Description

1798 originally plain 75' x 39' 7" rectangle ashlar granite
with cherry cocking except at rubble N. wall, 4 round arched
windows S. wall, door and arched window each gable. Simple
ball-capped bird cage bellcote W. gable. Porch and vestry
rubble built and crow-stepped, organ chamber apse at
3rd S. window, James Cobban. Good original horseshoe
gallery, pews and fine pulpit of c. 1825, tie-barred ceiling.
Glazing partly original. J. Warner Bell 1855.

Statement of Interest

Ecclesiastical building in use as such. Of special note

for completeness of furnishing. A stone dated MB 1613 is

built into the walls.

Guardianship monument.

These form a pleasant group round the square: Tarves as

a whole, though these are the only examples of intrinsic

merit has a very pleasant consistent granite character.
