Description

John Smith 1821. Tudor gothic. Rectangular plan, 4-window
(S. windows blind) harled down flanks, S. gable rough ashlar
with diagonal buttresses and squat battlemented and
pinnacled tower. (Top clock stage dated 1895). Original
glazing. Interior: vaulted porch in tower, original detail
at gallery stairs; body of church remodelled A. Marshall
Mackenzie (Matthews & Mackenzie) 1890, open roof, organ
chamber behind pulpit, new gallery fronts fitted to
original U-plan gallery on quatrefoil piers, pulpit
altered &c. N. window 1927 1821 bell inscribed CHRISTS KIRK
OF THE GREEN UDNY 1821 by Thomas Mears II; 1895 John
Warner Bell.
