Dated 1757, harled with painted margins, U-plan. Principal
block 3 storeys, 5 bays with windows grouped 2/1/2 and
pediment borne on 4 heavy modillions bearing the date at
centre; lugged architrave doorpieces at second and fourth
bays (that at second bay now a window); piended slated roof
with pronounced bellcast. At rear of principal block,
off-centre octagonal tower with ogee-domed roof. Wings, low
2 storeys, 4 bays, piended slated roofs; at north end of
east wing, addition of late 18th century drawing room with
canted east end. Miscellaneous additions at rear. Interior
much altered but of interest.
Formerly known as Ardoch and seat of the Gordons of Ardoch.
Sold to Munro in late 18th century and renamed Poyntzfield,
reputedly in honour of a Munro bride surnamed Poyntz.
