Church with roofless chancel and roofed restored nave, both
used as burial grounds. 16th century chancel (now used as
burial ground for Shaw-Mackenzies of Newhall) with blocked
Gothic bipartite east gable and similar south elevation.
Bead and hollow moulded door, re-used as run-off stops are
at lintel height. Moulded footings. Later nave with slate
roof and single Gothic window. Interesting tombstones and
monuments of 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. Remains of
moulded curved arched wall tomb recess on line of older
church, near present nave door.
Church remained in use until present church built at Resolis in circa 1765. The church was restored by the Kirkmichael Trust in 2017.
