Early 18th century. Double lectern dovecot, partially in
disrepair (1988). Red sandstone rubble, with squared
dressings. 2 low doors to S elevation with relieving
stones above each lintel and oculus flight hole. Rat course
above and at eaves level. Ashlar coped crowstepped gables
E and W elevations. Grey slate roof remaining to W half
of dovecot, with flight hole row at mid point.
INTERIOR: lined with nesting boxes and with potence and
ladders (interior not seen 1988).
Substantial and impressive dovecot, built to serve Biel
House. E part of roof and N and E walls adjoining, destroyed
circa 1985. Sited by walled garden and Biel Bridge (the
latter listed separately), to E of house.
