Description

Early 19th century. U-plan farm steading with horsemill,
recently converted to residential use, retaining
original features and character. Random whinstone
rubble, grey ashlar dressings to major openings.
E RANGE: 4-arched cartshed and granary with forestair to
doorway at 1st floor; arches now glazed. Door openings
at rear enlarged and glazed. 2 cattle courts adjoining
to W with long range to N, one gravelled, 1 as garden.
W RANGE: horsemill adjoining former granary. Horsemill
has modern full-length plate glass windows.
Largely modern glazing; good use of plate glass to
glazed cartshed openings. Modern skylights to roof. Red
pantiles, many renewed. Straight skews, ashlar coped
stacks.
