Early 19th century. 2-storey, with 1st floor breaking eaves, 3-bay house. Painted rubble.
N (LAIGH ROW) ELEVATION: boarded door, with 2-pane letter-box fanlight, at centre. Windows to both floors in outer bays; enlarged in bay to right at ground floor; broad gabled dormerheads to windows at 1st floor.
E ELEVATION: adjoined to No 14 Laigh Row (see separate listing).
W ELEVATION: ajdoined to higher house, Bridge House.
Variety of glazing; 8-pane glazing in sash and case window to left at 1st floor; 4-pane glazing to enlarged window; top-hopper glazing to remaining 2 windows. No skews. Rendered mutual stack to E. Modern tiles.
The larger window at ground apparently refers to the use of the room within as the library reading room, the books of which were transferred to Penninghame Prison in 1950s. This information courtesy of the owner (1994).
