Built 1931-2, James McGregor, Lewis R Sutherland and W H Hunt, engineers. Single bowed-truss reinforced concrete
bridge of 99ft (30.5m) span.
SIDE GIRDERS: Massive arched upper members, 8 suspenders and a slab deck with 8 transverse stiffening ribs. These are bricked by below-deck continuous tie beam. Parapet between suspenders has plinth,
spandrels perforated with arched openings (8 per section) and plain cope.
ABUTMENTS: Paired monumental panelled pylons on plain base, with revetments of face-dressed granite boulders.
One of a pair of bridges on the A82, dating from the experimental peirod of reinforced concrete road bridge construction in Scotland.
