Mid 19th century (see notes) L-plan gatelodge; W jamb added after 1901, to form T-plan. Single-storey. Aberdeen-bond grey granite with stugged sandstone quoins and dressings at earlier part; white ashlar quoins at W addition. Raised and stop-chamfered margins. Ashlar canted bay window at E gable; narrow attic opening above (blocked). Slated roof. Bracketted overhanging eaves; timber apex finials. Ashlar corniced ridge stack over N jamb (roof at lower level than main block). Entrance in NW re-entrant angle (? originally at NE).
Variety of glazing patterns: original 8-pane sash and case, part replaced by plate glass sashes.
4 gatepiers with gates, identical to those at West Lodge.
Lodge appears on OS 1st edition map 1874 (1867), and remains as L-plan on OS 2nd edition map, 1901 (1899).
