Description

1849. 2-storey, 3-bay, L-plan former manse with broad-eaved jerkinhead roofs. Coursed and snecked whinstone rubble with dressed ashlar raised margins.

S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: symmetrical. Centre bay with window to stone porch with jerkinhead roof, 2-leaf panelled timber door on return to left, windows in flanking bays and regular fenestration to 1st floor.

E ELEVATION: 3 windows to each floor, grouped to right and irregularly-disposed.

W ELEVATION: broad advanced bay to right with windows to each floor at outer right and to 1st floor left; recessed bay to left with 2 windows and tiny light near-centre; ground floor doors (altered from windows?) behind large modern conservatory.

N (REAR) ELEVATION: variety of elements including 2 boarded timber doors and lean-to porch.

Lying 12-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case windows. Grey slates. Cavetto-coped, rendered, panelled stacks with cans. Deeply overhanging eaves. Satellite dish.
