Description

Peddie & Kinnear architects, 1865-6. Single-storey Scots
Baronial lodge, with gatepiers and railings. LODGE: Snecked,
bull-faced red ashlar with polished dressings. West
elevation: round-headed rope-moulded doorway (right) in
gabled porch, canted window (left) in advanced gable.
Mullioned south gable window, north-facing window with
pedimented dormer head. Main gables crow-stepped; coped axial
stack; roofed with graded slates. Modern rear wing.
Gatepiers also red ashlar with rope-moulding and gables
below ball finials; decorative cast-iron gates and railings,
latter on serpentine low coping.
