Statement of Interest

Ecclesiastical building in use as such. 1825 lithograph in vestry and illustration in Didbin's NORTHERN TOUR, pub 1838, Vol II, p. 443 show former appearance of church. Building sequence compares with Kirkpatrick Fleming parish church nearby.

Pockocke in his tour journal notes (1760) "Gretna Green where there is a very ancient small Saxon Church" (pub SCOTTISH HISTORY SOCIETY, Vol I, 1887, p. 36).
