Opened September 1883. Gabled rectangular-plan 4-bay church with porch central on W gable; low chancel at E has vestry adjoining at S. Built of vertical timber boards on red ashlar base and with timber margins. Porch and vestry each with shouldered doors; square-headed windows, transomed bipartites with pointed lights (mostly plain leaded windows); 3-light chancel window; quartrefoil light above porch. Central axial ventilator; slated roofs. Bronze bell (dated 1883; Mears and Stainbank founders, London) raised on timber frame at N end of W gable.
Ecclesiastical building in use as such. Built by the Duke of Buccleuch to serve both his household and the local episcopal community.
Probably a stock design; eg. compare the demolished St Bride's church Beaconsfield Road, Glasgow - illus. in Kelvinside, 1894, where it is described as "recently erected".
