Earlier/mid 19th century. Picturesque barge-boarded 2-storey
house above W bank of Ewes water facing main road, and at NE
corner of courtyard with long low single storey range (workshop/store) t o S, cottage in low rear (W) range. Rubble built
with contrasting grey ashlar dressings; roofs all covered with
graded slates.
House: elevations twin-gabled except at
W, single windows throughout with 12-pane glazing pattern;
barge-boarded inner porch at E with shouldered doorway and recessed
3rd bay to left of latter. Projecting eaves; barge-boards with
cusped pattern; 2 corniced central stacks.
Associated ranges: W range has alterations to courtyard, main
elevation to E with sash windows with 12-pane glazing pattern, segmental-arched blocked pend in gabled central bay and in
slightly taller 3-bay S end block (latter has twin-gabled S
elevation); N range (cottage) returns S at E end and has N wing. Free-standing block to SW has loft contained below eaves
symetrical 3-bay former stable with 2-bay cart-shed
