1699 pedestrian bridge, widened for wheeled traffic, 1783.
Single span rubble bridge sloping from N to S; high tooled
rubble arch ring springs from renewed rendered abutments
and with later masonry buttress at NW. Low tooled rubble
parapet with splayed approaches; 3 cast-iron stays.
Approximate span; 30'.
Bridge of Grange 'was built in 1699, by Alexander Christie,
tenant in Cantley, for the glory of God and the good of the
people of Grange' to enable parishioners from Cantley on the
S side of the River Isla to cross the river to attend church
on the N side. First constructed as pedestrian bridge only.
