Description

Rectangular walled burial ground on site of former church.
Partially enclosed at N by cast-iron spearhead railings on
low coped wall with entrance flanked by plain gatepiers.
Some 18th century memorials and tombstones removed from
ruins of old church in 1833 and re-set in coped rubble
plinth near entrance.

Statement of Interest

Site of chapel of ease dedicated to Virgin Mary and subsequently

of parish church which was in a very poor state by 1791.

It was replaced by present parish church on nearby site in

1795.
