Style of John Bryce, late 19th early 20th century, 2-storey,
U-plan range opening onto walled courtyard; rubble with
tooled dressings; tooled ashlar copes. Conical stair tower,
with bell-cast, conical roof projects from south gable
of stable, with 4 bargeboarded lucarnes pierced by pigeon
flight holes, bellcast fish-scale slate roof and cast-iron
weathervane. Pedimented dormers break-wallhead above range.
Second drum tower with conical fish-scale and bellcast roof
flanks entrance with pair square ashlar gate piers with

Appears in present form by 2nd ed. OS (circa 1905). Probably
replaced the simple L-plan range without enclosing court
which shows on 1871 1st ed. OS.
