Description

1890. English Arts and Crafts style. 2-storey, L-plan house with S entrance front and W garden elevation, to which a slightly later high ceilinged room (rising 2-storey height) has been added at N gable. Harled, tooled ashlar dressings, timber-frame detailing to gablets. Projecting gabled SW bay with deep ground floor canted bay window; entrance porch in re-entrant angle. Wide 2-bay garden front with garden entrance (from sitting room) screened by slated verandah supported on rustic wooden columns, ground floor canted bay window to right. Further garden entrance in glazed canted window rising full height, breaking wallhead, in W front of later wing. 1st floor windows break eaves with gablet heads; multi-pane glazing; coped end and wallhead stacks; slate roof with projecting eaves and red tile ridge.

Interior: inner hall with staircase; turned wooden balusters to stairs; simple decorative plaster cornices to sitting and dining rooms; simple original chimney pieces.
