Description

Earlier-mid 19th century pair single storey south facing
cottages flanking village street, with former byre as a
separate building at right angles at west gable.
Cottages (main museum building); 6 irregular bays with 2
doors; all whitewashed rubble; 4-pane glazing; end and single
centre ridge stacks; heather thatched roof.
Interior: linked internally as one; former cruck (couple)
blades partially reconstructed.
Byre: small single storey byre with entrance in long east
elevation; slightly battered walls, rounded angles of local
drystone technique comprising courses of round, sometimes
split, field boulders levelled with rows of slate.
Weatherboarded gable (probably replacing turf); heather thatch.
