Mid 19th century. Small 3-bay, 1-storey and attic villa in Tudor style, front stugged sandstone ashlar with polished ashlar dressings. Sides and rear coursed rubble. Centre bay slightly advanced, with coped gablet head surmounted by pointed finial. Lugged bolection moulded doorway with geometric-glazed fanlight. 2-pane sash and case attic window above has chamfered ingoes and cill, with hoodmould. Windows flanking central bay similar, but larger, with 8-pane sash and case glazing. Base course. Chimney stacks on gables have twin diamond stacks with moulded copes. Modern and inappropriate pantiled roof. Small single storey range of offices to E, much altered
Thought to have been the factor's house for Carstairs House.
