Description

19th century. Brick ice house with droved sandstone dressings. Ice house contained within earth mound and comprising exposed symmetrical single storey 3-bay entrance elevation with door in centre bay, windows in flanking bays, and small square vents flanking in turn at ground; stone-coped wallhead above, tapering to ground at outer left and right. Central domed chamber within, stone oculus at apex; flanking passages curving around chamber with stone-flagged floor, regularly-spaced stone-shelved niches, and vaulted brick ceiling.
