Probably William Wilkins, circa 1825, re-working earlier cottage. Single storey L-plan gate lodge. Squared and snecked rubble, with droved and polished dressings. Rectangular hoodmoulds. Corniced skews to gableheads. Moulded eaves course. Chamfered arrises. Long and short quoins. Stone mullions.
S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: 2-bay, comprising bipartite window to left, and bipartite window in centre of projecting gable to right, modern timber door on return to left. Later harled and flat-roofed addition to outer right, with modern door and glazing. Tooled and painted name panel at quoin to outer left, reading ?Leuchold Gate?.
W ELEVATION: single bay; bipartite window at centre, jerkin-headed gable.
N ELEVATION: 3-bay, comprising bipartite window to projecting bay at right; single windows at centre and left. Harled at outer left.
Modern extensions to rear.
Predominantly lying-pane timber sash and case windows. Graded grey slate roof; tall, octagonal, ashlar sandstone ridge stacks at centre, with circular cans; cast-iron rainwater goods.
GATEPIERS: stone; polygonal with shallow pyramidal caps.
