This metal plaque reads:
This chapel standing on anciently consecrated ground was part of the church endowed by Duncan Lord Campbell of Lochae who lies here with his wife Marjory, Daughter of the Duke of Albany and grand daughter of King Robert ---- within these walls the public have no right. Sole ownership being vested in the Duke of Argyll ---- This Chapel was repaired by Douglas, Duke of Hamilton 1790 and finished for burial of the Chiefs of Argyll by Lord Lorne, afterwards 9th Duke of Argyll II, 1890.
