Description

Dated 1804, but may incorporate some earlier fabric.

Courtyard stable block, now partly converted for domestic

use. Single storey with lofts/attics. Whitewashed rubble with contrasting red ashlar margins. 3 ranges around cobbled

court, screen walls at E with tall rusticated ashlar

gatepiers; flanking E-facing gables each with pointed window.

N range now domestic, central flat-headed pend now blocked,

round-arched N-facing window above with dated keystone, and

finialled pediment; W range, with cast-iron columned shelter

to court, breaks forward from N elevation, with modern

garage; detached S range built in 2 phases: kennels at SW

corner. Small-paned sash windows; slated roofs.

Dated keystone also initialled "JB"; 1687 stone reset in E

gable of S range with initials "RC MD"
