Later 18th century. Symmetrical 2-storey, 3-bay house with monopitch outshots to right and left; right outshot set back slightly from principal elevation. White harling; painted surrounds to openings.
S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: central replacement door; flanking windows. 3 catslide dormer windows centred above at 1st floor. Bipartite window to each outshot.
W ELEVATION: plain gable; central door to outshot; window to left.
N ELEVATION: not seen, 2000.
E ELEVATION: plain gable to house; sandstone rubble masonry revealed to outshot.
INTERIOR: not seen, 2000.
12-pane timber sash and case windows; horns to 1st floor windows; uPVC windows to outshots. 2 rooflights to right outshot. Pitched roof; grey slate laid in diminishing courses; raised skews; harled gable apex stacks; circular cans. Slate outshot roofs.
Halketshall is situated in a prominent position in Limekilns, lining the road to Charlestown and overlooking the Firth of Forth. Halketshall is named after the Halkets who lived at nearby Pitfirrane Castle and who, in the 17th century acquired a large part of Limekilns.
