Description

Early 19th century. 2-storey, attic and basement villa with
large early 20th century additions to W. Rendered walling
lined as ashlar, smooth rusticated quoins, windows with
raised painted margins and bold voussoirs.
3-bay entrance elevation to N with central gabled porch
(later) with deeply overhanging eaves. Consoled corniced
doorpiece with round-arched doorway and semi-circular
fanlight. Double-leaf panelled doors. Single light windows,
that to centre 1st bipartite. All sash and case with 12-pane
glazing.
Rear elevation symmetrical and similarly detailed, with bold
centre mullion, some windows with plateglass glazing. Eaves
cornice. Bipartite dormer to centre.
Piended slate roof with tall pair of corniced axial stacks,
octagonal cans.
Interior has many alterations, subdividing of some rooms and
removal of some cornices.
Large early 20th-century recessed square 2-storey and attic
wing to right, harled walling mainly with bipartite windows
and 4-pane glazing.
Pair of rusticated sandstone gatepiers with ball finials.
