Robert Young, contractor. Built circa 1884. Mineral railway
bridge, 3 flat spans over Rival Annan, subsidiary span on E
bank nearby for flood relief and field drainage.
Cross-braced and rivetted steel lattice girders; small,
mostly "T"-section beams with flat braces.
BRIDGE: bull-faced red ashlar abutments and piers, plain iron
handrails with polished red ashlar terminal piers with flat
pyramidal caps. Rails replaced by timber deck.
SUBSIDIARY SPAN identically treated without piers.
Built for transporting stone from Corncockle quarry to
Glasgow-Carlisle railway line. Also in Lochmaben Parish.
