enclosing a circa 1800 house to N. 2-storeys and attics,
asymmetrical elevations with Baronial details. Coursed
rubble, polished granite angle and window margins.
Entrance front has boldly advanced gabled bays flanking
recessed bay, to right further advanced gabled bay (part of
earlier house). To centre bay moulded corbel course over
ground, doorway with plain granite jambs and sandstone panel
above. All single light sash and case windows with 12 pane
glazing. S elevation 3-bay with typical Brycean motif to
right of projecting canted window to ground corbelled to
square at 1st with crowstepped gable, corbelled tourelle to
angle. Tripartite window to left and 2 1st floor single
lights with decorative pedimented dormer heads. Small-pane
windows to ground, plate glass to 1st.
Crowstepped gables with finial or stack at apex, dormers with
stone finials. Corniced stacks with octagonal cans, slate

Kirclaugh exhibits many typical Brycean details both to
interior and exterior, if the architect was not Bryce it was
certainly someone consciously imitating his manner.
