MILLER'S COTTAGE: Single storey and garret. Two piended
dormers. Windows altered. Plaque to Rev Andrew Murray on
front wall. Lean-to dairy at W end.
BYRE has pig-sty attached to N side.
Mill was powered by mill-lade from Gadie Burn. Rev Andrew Murray (1794-1866) Minister of the Dutch Reformed Church at Graaf - Reinet, Cape Colony for forty-four years, (1822-66) an important figure in church and Afrikan affairs in South Africa, was born in the Miller's Cottage.
