John Smith c. 1835 for Sir George Turner, Jacobean, 2-storey
with dormerheads, harled pinned granite with freestone
dressings. S.W. front symmetrical, 5-window with centre bay
window and curvilinear gable flanked by octagonal finial -
pinnacled angles. N.W. front asymmetrical with splay angled
Tudor porch and circular N. angle tower.
Diagonal shaft chimneys. Older (c.1782-3) simple 2-storey
L-plan vernacular house incorporated at S.E.

General design derived from Auchmacoy in Logie Buchan parish.
The lodge is also by the Smiths but not of note. Mill of
Menie retains the outer frame of its wheel, internal workings
largely complete with primitive thresher. Kiln (if any) has
been gutted.
