About 1820. Simple late Georgian 2-storey and attic south
front. Whinstone rubble with galletting, droved freestone
dressings, eaves band and pilaster strips, skew gables, slate
roof with splayed wooden and slated dormers. 3-windows wide,
raised margins, cornice over doorway, gothic panelled
fanlight. Fine wood and glazed screen in entrance hall,
segmental fanlight, pilasters and sidelights. Turnpike stair
to rear of hall. Main rooms and hall with acanthus cornices
and roses, elaborate carved mantelpieces on first floor, one
with Baroque-type trophies, another with turtle-doves.
Single-storey office block, whinstone and freestone, attached
to right of front; 5-windows with advanced centre and ends,
plain parapets, plain window treatment, round headed in
centre only; flank elevation to east with arched courtyard
entry.
No longer used as farmhouse.
