Description

1828-30, probably William Robertson. S facing, 2-storey,
5-bay house. Coursed rubble. tooled ashlar margins. Slightly
recessed centre bay with centre entrance masked by later
glazed porch; pilastered and corniced doorpiece to doorway.
2 2-storey wings (same build as frontage) project at rear
forming U-plan, the small court infilled by single storey
porch; some rear lean-to additions.
Ground floor fenestration larger than 1st floor; 12-pane
glazing. Paired coped rear stacks; slate roofs with stone
ridges.
WALLED GARDEN: rubble walled garden with tooled ashlar cope
extends E of house, 3 sides only (no walling at S); W wall
linked to rear of house.

Statement of Interest

Manse re-sited and glebe excambed from near old Duffus

Kirk in 1830. Ceased to be parish manse circa 1980.

Glebe House constructed, together with 'walled garden

privies, ashpit and well' for $1,032.2s.IId.
