HOUSE: A and W Reid, dated 1878. Asymmetrical 2-storey, 3-bay
SE facing house. Tooled coursed rubble, tooled ashlar
dressings.
Centre door in advanced, gabled and dated porch, flanked left
by gabled bay with canted bay window. Decorative brattishing
to bay window piended roof; coronet and initials in gablet
above 1st floor window. Bipartite to right of porch with
plaque above; 2 gabletted dormers break wallhead. Further
pair gabletted dormers in NE return elevation of rear 3-bay
wing with blocked centre door (to former gun room) now
window. 2 blind windows in NE gable.
Mainly 6-pane glazing; corniced end battery stacks;
decorative bargeboards; decorative cast-iron gable apex
finials; slate roofs with projecting eaves.
KENNELS: also A and W Reid, 1878. Single storey and attic,
SE 5-bay range fronted by kennel yard. Tooled course rubble,
tooled ashlar dressings.
Advanced centre and outer bays, at centre with round-headed
entrance flanked by round-headed windows with similar pair
attic windows above. Outer bays with double arched arcade as
loggia fronting kennel entrances. Gabled SW and NE return
elevations with centre doors and windows linked by moulded
string course at impost level. Further entrance in gabled
centre bay, rear elevation. Cat-slide roof at rear projects
to form continuous verandah supported by cast-iron columns.
Multi-pane glazing; single coped ridge stack; decorative
cast-iron gable finials; decorative bargeboards; slate roof.
Small steading range to rear of house not included in
listing.
