Description

Circa 1820. E facing 2-storey symmetrical 3-bay farmhouse.
Pinned rubble, tooled ashlar dressings. Centre door masked
by later timber porch; smaller 1st floor fenestration; some
lying-pane glazing survives. Rear projecting stairwell.
Ashlar chamfered angles with run-off stops at wallhead
height. Pair coped ridge stacks; piended slate roof in poor
condition.
1874 NW kitchen single storey extension by A & W Reid.
Further rear wing at SW.

Statement of Interest

The name "Doune" and mounded site indicated earlier, probably

fortified site.

Empty and deteriorating.
