Early 19th century. 2-storey droved ashlar front, end bays
advanced with tripartite window and lunette above at 1st.
Centre 3-storey pend tower with tall archway and Venetian
with arched side lights at 2nd. Cottage rubble-built,
2-window and centre door, 1-window wings and peind roof.
Alva House demolished, refronted by R. & J. Adam 1789 (Bolton
