Description

Early to mid 19th century group comprising 2-bay, 2-storey
house at south, 8-bay lower 2-storey factory adjoining to
north. Tooled rubble with contrasting tooled squared rubble
dressings.
House: margined and corniced door at north, 1 window ground,
2 to 1st floor, 4-pane glazing, 1 gablet dormer, 2 windows
in south gable. Coped end stacks slate roof. Rear outshot.
Factory: wide entrance at north, 7 windows (some blocked) in
ground floor, 8 in 1st, (some top hinged 2-light opening);
glazing pattern 2 pairs of horizontal upper panes 3
parallel vertical lower panes. Slate roof,
1/2 piended to north, small north stack.

Statement of Interest

Now one of very few surviving hand loom factories in

Scotland.
