Description

William Robertson, 1825. 2-storey gate lodge, W facing to
former driveway. Tooled ashlar W frontage and dressings,
harled flanks.
Canted W front with centre entrance masked by single storey
gabled timber porch (circa 1900) iwth side entrance. Main
doorway (within porch) has rectangular fanlight with radial
glazing. Long windows light flanking facets, each set within
shallow round-headed recess; smaller 1st floor windows, blind
in outer faces.
Regular 2-bay long N and S elevations; taller ground floor
windows; secondary side entrance in N elevation; 9- and
12-pane glazing. Deep ashlar base course. Bracketted corniced
and crenellated wallhead; coped centre ridge stack; shallow
piended slate roof.
Modern single storey harled lean-to at rear.
INTERIOR: narrow curved staircase with slender wooden
balusters; panelled window shutters.
