Description

John Baxter, 1769-83. Large hollow square, now mostly roofed
for modern farm usage. Rendered E elvation, tooled ashlar
elsewhere, tooled and polished ashlar dressings.
Centre basket arched entrance with moulded surrounds;
flanking slightly advanced and taller 2-storeys, 2-bay square
angle blocks. 2-storey, 7-bay symmetrical N elevation with
centre 5 bays slightly set back with round-headed ground
floor windows and low 1st floor fenestration. Sash and case
windows; 6- and 12-pane glazing. Crenellated and corbelled
wallhead; W wing with shallow piended slate roof.
INTERIOR: much altered for modern farm use.
