Description

Range of 18th and 19th century grave monuments; early 18th century slab monuments with masonic symbols. 19th century burial enclosure to MacMurrich family of Stuckgowan against W wall, decorative cast-iron enclosing railings. Later 19th century Celtic cross monuments.

BOUNDARY WALL: low rubble boundary wall enclosing graveyard.

Statement of Interest

Ballyhennan has a long history as a burial ground, apparently the Norse Vikings were buried here in 1263. Most of the monuments date from the 18th and 19th centuries. The former Free Church in front of the graveyard is listed separately.
