Opened as the Walcot Cemetery, and occupying twelve acres of high ground to the north-west of the City, this was laid out to the designs of Mr Milner, best known for laying out the grounds at Crystal Palace, South London. The structures were designed by the busy Bath firm of Hickes and Isaac. The railings were almost certainly removed during the Second World War drive for salvage.
* Architectural interest: as a mid-C19 cemetery lodge in the Gothic style;
* Group value: with the Grade II listed cemetery gate piers and boundary walls.
