Tomb of Dr William Oliver. c1764, repaired late C19. A heavy low slab of Bath stone with inset lead letters (renewed), set within a low stone kerb which formerly sported railings (probably removed in WW2).
HISTORY: This unostentatious memorial commemorates Dr Oliver FRS 1695-1764, one of the leading lights of High Georgian Bath society and advocate of bathing, as well as doctor to the Mineral Water Hospital. Listed for historical reasons. No 449 on the churchyard plan.
