Twelve terrace varied houses stepped steeply uphill form No. 1 to right. c1800-1820 with C20 alterations.
MATERIALS: Painted limestone ashlar, double pitched slate and double Roman tile roofs with moulded stacks to party walls.
PLAN: Double depth plans with rear additions.
EXTERIOR: Two and three storeys, one and two-window range. No. 1 at lower end with right return in Tyning Lane, three storeys, two-window range. Parapet, coved cornice and ground floor platband to front, bracketed sills to late C19 plate glass windows with stop-chamfered arises to architraves and six-panel door to right in shallow stone porch with reeded fronts to hood and jambs. No. 2 similar with two-pane plate glass sash windows. No. 3 similar with nine-pane windows to second floor and plate glass to rest. Similar door to right. No .4 similar with plate glass sashes and early C20 leaded lights to door. No. 5 similar with six/six-pane sash windows and C20 door. No. 6 similar, with panelled blocks to corners of pedimented parapet and slightly larger six/six-pane sash windows. No. 7 similar to Nos. 1-5 with plate glass sashes. Nos. 8-11 are one-window ranges with cornices below low parapets, ground floor platbands and eight/eight-pane sash windows except No. 11 which has margin panes to plate glass sashes. Similar porches to Nos. 1-5 except No. 9. No. 12 with left return on Camden Road, c1850 with wide eaves and bracketed sills to plate glass sashes and C20 door to right. Left return two storeys with two windows over four-panel bolection moulded door with cornice on large consoles. Two blind windows to first floor right.
INTERIORS: Not inspected, except No. 8 partially inspected by Bath Council 1980. Some original sash windows at rear, original hall archway.
