Monument commemorating Lieutenant General The Hon Sir Andrew Clarke GCMG CB CIE, his wife Lady Mary (née MacKillop), and their only child, Lady Elinor Sueter. Among other appointments, General Clarke was the 9th Governor of Straits Settlement, Commandant of the Royal School of Military Engineering, and Inspector-General of Fortifications in England. He was also Colonel Commandant of the Royal Engineers.
