End terrace house. Late C18 with late C19 alterations.
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, and double Roman tile.
EXTERIOR: Two storeys, attic and basement, two windows, small paired sash lead covered dormer in mansard roof, above twelve-pane sashes, to sill band at first floor, with original six-panel, part-glazed door under slab hood on brackets, right. Head of basement window visible in small plinth, with pavement grille. Moulded cornice, blocking course and parapet, large two stage ashlar stack, left. Rear also ashlar, with double Roman tile mansard roof, with hipped paired sash dormer above canted three storey bay with twelve-pane sashes to sill bands, in broad stone corner mullions narrow vertical strip of glass has been inserted to two top levels. Door to left at lower ground level. Full width coved cornice below blocking course and parapet.
INTERIOR: Not inspected. Nos 8-15 (qqv) were originally one terrace, Nos 8 and 15 stepped slightly forward marking the ends. No.15 is least altered of these. Some sources suggest that No.15 predates the rest of Claverton buildings: a building is shown on this site on a 1755 survey of the Manor of Hampton by Thorpe, and the pediment is the only such feature in the row.
