Detached house. North part c1830, south part mid C19. Gothic style. Mainly sandstone rubble with ironstone galleting and brick dressings but south eastern wing is of ironstone. Slate roofs with brick chimneystacks, including three pairs of ornamental moulded brick chimneystacks to northern part. EXTERIOR:Earlier north part is of two parallel ranges of two storeys and attics three bays built at right angles to the road. Main entrance to north west has two windows only becase of a projecting corner chimneystack. Entrance in brick projection with slate roof. The garden front has three casements to the first floor, French windows below and a decorative verandah. The north side has one window only because of a projecting chimneystack to the north east corner. Attached to the south is a service wing of lower elevation of two storeys , two windows. The western half is of sandstone rubble with ironstone galleting and has an oriel window to first floor and a paired sash with glazing bars under hoodmoulding to the ground floor. The eastern half is of ironstone rubble with one mid C19 sash with vertical glazing bars only and horns and a casement window to first floor and a rendered canted bay with French windows to the ground floor. Attached at the south end is a stable courtyard with sandstone former coach house with hipped slate roof and gabled double doors with moulded bargeboards and one storey brick wings to south west (former stables) and south east (former service buildings).
INTERIOR: Reported to retain its original floor plan, staircase, original fireplaces and doors.
