Pair of very similar houses, form part of a terrace built as 4
separate phases. Early C19 with later additions and
alterations. Painted brick. Plain clay tile roof, red
machine-made to left, hand-made to right, dentilled eaves.
Central ridge stack with pots and oversailing detail. Timber
doorcases. Single-depth plan with entrances to left and right.
House to right is wider than that to left. 3 storeys and
basement. 2 (1:1) first-floor windows. Windows to left (No.50)
are 6/6 in near-flush-frames and under segmental arched heads,
no sills; second-floor windows are blind. C20 replacement
metal-framed windows in No.48. 2 stone steps to 6-panel left
entrance door, all raised and fielded; 2 steps to 4-panel
right door, bottom pair flush-double-beaded, upper pair
glazed; doorcases have open pediments and console brackets.
