GV II

Gate piers and linking walls with railings. 1881. Designed by Thomas Hope of Bradford for George Thorpe. Coursed stone with ashlar dressings and cast iron railings.
Two sets of square ashlar gate piers with moulded bases and chamfered sides which rise to octagonal central sections with incised banding and curved tops to each face. Upper circular section has Greek key patterning and moulded circular caps with ogee tops and ribs. The piers to the right retain their original iron finials. Linking these piers are low stone walls with curved ashlar coping topped with cast iron railings and sections of full-height walling between topped with similar coping.
