Statue. Dated 1900. John Cassidy, sculptor. Polished granite
and bronze. Standing bronze figure on polished granite plinth
carrying inscriptions. Lieut. Colonel Sir BA Dobson
(1847-1898) was mayor of Bolton between 1895 and 1898, and the
statue was erected by public subscription 'to commemorate a
useful life and service to the town of Bolton'.
