House. C17, with C19 alterations and late C20 extension.
Whitened roughcast on brick with old slate roof and gable end
stack.
EXTERIOR: single storey and attic; 3-bay original front: 1-bay
extension to left slightly set back, and 2 storeyed. Framed,
ledged and braced front door. Windows to original building are
replacement 2- and 3-light flush casements, those on upper
floor in gabled dormers. Extension has 3-light windows.
INTERIOR: exposed softwood ceiling joists.
Built adjoining a four bay cottage with old slate roof but of
no special interest. Listed for group value.
House is built on a sandstone outcrop with stone steps down to
street level.
