Coach House, now private house. 1904; converted 1948. By Sir
Charles Nicholson for HN Gladstone. Coursed squared red
sandstone with weatherboarded dormers and slate clad clock
tower; hipped roof of Westmoreland slate with stone stacks and
pyramidal roof to clock tower.
EXTERIOR: single storey with attics; 3 bays. Ground floor
windows are hopper lights, with crossed glazing bars, under
rectangular lintels with face keystones. Two of the attic
windows are 2-light flush casements with glazing bars fixed as
gabled half dormers. The third window is similar but 3-light
in a full gable. Clock tower has dials to two faces and bird
weathervane. Rear: gabled ranges produce an F-plan.
INTERIOR: completely remodelled result of conversion to
residential use.
